The Barnwood furniture story is certainly a fascinating one. The Amish young man, who today manages the Barnwood furniture manufacturing company, worked in his dad’s log furniture business.
However, he was intrigued by Barnwood furniture and fetched a few pieces of Barnwood to build a Coffee Table for his girlfriend. (He had no idea of the long term effects this one idea might have.) As the story continues, it was a touch of romance that launched the business.
Galen, our store manager at Walnut Creek Furniture saw the Barnwood Coffee Table and was immediately attracted to it. Galen requested, what is today known as the Timber Ridge Barnwood Table, to be built. The Barnwood furniture company was off to a roaring start. Today, our customers at Walnut Creek Furniture love Barnw00d.

This was a few years ago and the interest in Barnwood among our customers continues to grow. It is an excellent complement to the Industrial Furniture that Walnut Creek Furniture has been known for.
Satisfy your longing for a touch of vintage, mixed with hip and NYC styles, you’ll discover it in both the Industrial Furniture and now authentic Barnwood Furniture. All with the signature Holmes County, Ohio craftsmanship you’ve come to expect. (What’s really impressive and impactful is the hefty 1-5/8″ table and dresser tops. That’s solid—in my book. 🙂 )
Our photographer had some fun at the wood shop where the Barnwood Furniture is made (See below). Three generations work together in the family business just down the valley from our store. Grandpa (formerly a dairy farmer) and the dad used to build log homes together, then they, along with several sons, transitioned into building furniture—of all places, in a renovated chicken barn.
Then, just a few years ago the grandson, began with a Barnwood Coffee Table. (He just got married and the Barnwood Coffee Table—with a history—graces his new home’s living room. And, of course, his wife loves it.)
